In June the Steering Group of Stratford for Europe met with the three parliamentary candidates who represented the opposition parties in the General Election in December 2019, Felix Ling (Labour) Dave Passingham (Green) and Dominic Skinner (Lib Dem). The intention was to explore how different parties could be brought together by a common cause to support electoral reform. It was a good discussion conducted respectfully and with an obvious desire to hear the points of view of others. It highlighted a lot of positives as well as some serious challenges that will need overcoming if the idea of some kind of opposition alliance is to get off the ground. We hope to revisit the subject in due course.
