Edward Macmillan Scott: Together For Britain and A People’s Say On Brexit
December 6 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
An address by Edward McMillan-Scott, a Patron of the European Movement, former MEP and Vice-President of the European Parliament, who has been coordinating all the operational pro-EU organisations in regular meetings and helping to raise nearly £2m for the People’s Vote campaign.
ABOUT EDWARD MCMILLAN-SCOTT
Edward McMillan-Scott campaigned for the European Movement in the 1975 Referendum and was elected a pro-European Conservative MEP for Yorkshire & Humber in 1984. He was leader of the Tory MEP group 1997-2001 and was elected a Vice-President of the European Parliament four times 2004-2014. Edward protested at David Cameron’s split from the mainstream European Peoples’ Party in 2009 and then sat as a LibDem. He lost his seat in 2014. In parliament he founded the EU’s Democracy & Human Rights programme, the world’s largest. He is one of eight Britons on Putin’s visa blacklist – “a badge of honour”. Edward regularly speaks on the Rise of the Right and its links with the 1930s.
Edward McMillan’s address and question and answer session will be followed by light refreshments and an opportunity to chat informally with Edward and other members of the audience.
