Hugo Dixon: How To Stop Brexit – The Facts
November 8 @ 6:30 pm - 8:30 pm
Stratford4Europe is proud to welcome Hugo Dixon to Stratford-upon-Avon.
Hugo will talk about the essential need to change public opinion if Brexit is to be stopped. Drawing on his highly acclaimed work with infacts.org, he will show how facts can be deployed to achieve this end. He will also be outlining the subjects and honest arguments that can be used to encourage Leave voters to think again. His talk will be directed very much towards ordinary members of the public and what they can do to help stop Brexit.
ABOUT HUGO DIXON
Hugo Dixon is co-founder of CommonGround, an organisation which is committed to pulling the country together by fighting the divisions that have arisen in society and the rise of xenophobia. Their first principle is to support honest politics, saying that ‘our political system has been polluted by spin, lies, petty corruption and false promises’, especially during the referendum.
Hugo is also chairman and editor-in-chief of InFacts, a journalistic enterprise making the fact-based case for Britain to stay in the EU. InFacts serves as platform on which contributors daily rebut false Brexit claims with careful, well-researched analysis and yes, facts! As well as editing the content, Hugo is also a frequent contributor, for example some of his recent articles are, ‘In a democracy, people are free to change their minds’ and, ‘2 ways this monstrosity of a bill must be changed’.
In the past, he founded an online platform for financial insights called Breakingviews in 1999, which he chaired until it was sold to Thomson Reuters in 2009. He now writes columns for Reuters, Breakingviews, The Guardian and other publications (including InFacts). He is also author of “The In/Out Question: Why Britain should stay in the EU and fight to make it better”.
