Denis McShane is one of the UK’s acknowledged political experts on European Politics and Brexit. He first coined the term Brexit in 2012 and in 2014 wrote his book Brexit: How Britain Will leave Europe.
He has long been involved in politics, first standing as the Labour candidate in Solihull in 1974 and then was the Labour MP for Rotherham for 18 years. He served in Ministerial positions in the Foreign Office 1997 – 2005 including a stint as Europe Minister and then was Tony Blair’s personal envoy to Europe and UK delegate to the Council of Europe.
He has written a biography of the French President François Mitterrand and books on Poland and the Balkans. He speaks French, German and Spanish and writes regularly for the Independent and European papers on Brexit.
His latest book, Brexiternity: The Uncertain Fate of Britain, argues that Brexit will dominate British politics, economics and international relations for years to come.

Please note that access to the talk is FREE but only by registration on Eventbrite. The Zoom link to the talk as well as the password will be sent out to all registered participants on the morning of the talk.
The Zoom talk will begin at 7.00 pm and the event will end by 8.30 pm at the latest.
