Open Letter to College Students: Why Should Brexit Matter To You?

Did you know that on the 29th MARCH 2019: you are going to be stripped of your existing rights to travel freely in 27 other countries across Europe? as well as have your existing rights to study and work in these countries taken away from you? that many of the jobs you might wish to do may have relocated abroad? not to mention that this country will be able to ditch many of the European laws that this country currently signs up to concerning protecting the environment, preventing global warming…

Press Release: Stratford upon Avon Turns Out in Force for People’s Vote March

Two hundred and fifty local supporters boarded five coaches on Saturday 20th October to head down to Park Lane in London to join the ‘People’s Vote March’ to Parliament Square.  The march was organised by a coalition of national pro-European groups with the aim of putting pressure on the government to give MPs the option of voting in favour of a people’s vote in the meaningful say they have been promised on any final Brexit deal. In London, the supporters on the coaches were joined by many more from the…

Sign the ‘People’s Vote’ Petition to Stratford District Council

Please sign our e-petition to Stratford District Council urging the Council to support a ‘People’s Vote’ on any final Brexit deal which includes an option for the United Kingdom to remain a full member of the European Union. With the government’s negotiations with the EU in chaos and news that any Brexit deal will be damaging to the economy of the Stratford District and this country, now is the time when we need to be urging our local politicians to act in the best interests of the people who live…

Summer Update from Stratford4Europe

It’s been a busy time since April! Over the last few months we have held another regional meeting, participated in all the EU Action Days, continued our programme of guest speakers, helped to launch another group in Warwick, marched in support of the People’s Vote and had a picnic in the park (well, on the rec). In late April we hosted a meeting of local groups as one of eight regional meetings which were organised by the new national team in London to follow up the launch of the new…

A C Grayling Speaks To WarwickDistrict4Europe On “Fighting Brexit: The Next Steps”

We must remain in the European Union or the impact on business, health, housing and education will be disastrous and the young people of the UK will suffer as a result of Brexit.  This was the message from A.C. Grayling to a packed audience in Leamington Spa on June 26th. Two hundred members of the public and supporters of Warwick District 4 Europe gathered to hear philosopher Professor A.C. Grayling give a rousing talk entitled Fighting Brexit: The Next Steps, in which he attacked the “unicorn shaped” ideologies of Brexiteers and…

Representing Stratford-on-Avon in Parliament with Britain4Europe

Mark Cunliffe, Stratford4Europe Supporter was selected to represent our constituency and joined guests of over 60 similar groups from around the country.  He tells us of his day: You might be aware that last month we were invited to Parliament and I was the lucky one who went.  The day started with me arriving and already nervous as hell turning up early to do my first stint at the Sodem daily protest outside, 5 minutes after my arrival about 25-35 EDL types turned up. Steve Bray (main guy you see…

S4E Spring Update

Following our lively programme of guest speakers last year, we started the year with a bang in that department. In early January, we attracted 200 people to a talk by the former President of the Farmers’ Union, Sir Peter Kendall. His theme was the impact of Brexit on British agriculture, and his assessment was rather sobering. It provoked a lot of questions from the audience in which the farming community were well represented, an interesting and slightly different mix from attendees at our previous events. It shows that people are…

Cross-Party Group of MPs Launch Push For “People’s Vote” On Brexit Deal

Stratford4Europe support the campaign for the People’s Vote. Brexit is less than a year away. What the government proposes is not a done deal. And it doesn’t have to be. One thing is sure. Brexit will not deliver for Britain. It will do serious damage to our economy. What’s worse, generations to come will pay the heaviest price. The Government keeps moving the goalposts. It is now determined to implement the most extreme – and reckless – form of Brexit. This is not what many people thought they were voting…
